The Model 810Dx pipe & cable locator continues three decades of innovation by introducing the newly designed ergonomic receiver and constant current transmitter. Not only does the new Metrotech 810Dx surpass the old workhorse Model 810 in performance, but it sets the bar for locators to come.

The 810Dx uses a radio frequency signal that jumps insulators and rubber gaskets often found in water and gas distribution systems. The floodlight quality of the high radio (83 kHz) signal makes the 810Dx a superior instrument for inductive locating. The legendary inductive tracing performance of the Model 810 locator has been enhanced with the new 810Dx. The highly sensitive receiver enables you to locate more accurately and further distances than previous models. Possibly the greatest improvement over the previous model is the ergonomically designed weather-resistant housing, which allows for greater productivity and durability.

The 810Dx boasts a powerful 1-watt transmitter (maximum allowed by FCC regulation), upgraded from the previous 0.25-watt of the 810. Utilizing distinctive transmitter technology, the 810Dx is capable of three levels of output and has a new battery-conserving constant current circuitry. Sensing the resistance in the circuit, the transmitter applies the proper voltage to achieve a constant current output. The result is optimal signal strength without operator intervention for more productive operation. Transmitter power levels are easily selected using oversized buttons for a better tactile feel, even when using gloves.

The 810Dx locator includes the transmitter, receiver, conductive attachments, ground rod, carrying case, batteries and operation manual. 1-year warranty.
