The 480B features a crystal controlled transmitter and receiver that provides operating stability. The narrow noise bandwidth of the transmitter gives a clean, no drift response providing the operator with longer ranges and improved accuracy. The 50/60 Hz power line locating capability is used for detecting the presence of underground energized lines.
